Rust Finished Steel (Aged Steel)
Authentic controlled weathering and oxidation of steel alloys permanently sealed with protective UV lacquer.
Process Overview
Steel is an alloy of iron and other metals, such as manganese and tungsten. Although steel is more rust resistant than iron, it will naturally oxidize over time when exposed to oxygen, forming iron oxide, commonly known as rust.
Our specialized process creates an authentic, artfully weathered aged steel patina under tightly controlled conditions. Once the desired aesthetic oxidation texture is achieved, we cover and seal the rusty steel with an attractive, durable UV lacquer that stabilizes the surface, preventing staining, flaking, and ongoing degradation.
